Welcome to the Yakutat Alumni Association Website

Nov 18th, 2011 • Category: News

The Yakutat Alumni Association (YAA) will have an innovative and energetic website this year. The YAA is a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to provide recreation and athletic events for the community of Yakutat, Alaska. It was organized in 1989. Since then It has instigated a myriad of fund raising events to support the Yakutat School District with it’s athletic programs.

The most exciting and significant event YAA organizes is the annual Mount Saint Elias Classic Basketball Tournament. This event has proven to be one of the most popular small school tournaments in the State of Alaska.

The association will accept donations to help keep these activities solvent— and continuous. Anyone who donates a $100.00 or more will have their names placed on a prominent place on the website for the year. Since YAA is a 501(c)3 organization you will receive tax break. Once donation is received an email will be sent to you with organization tax ID number.

The website will also feature an Eagle Talk link. In this activity students and parents can post comments before and after the games.

The site will also feature a season Game Schedule so Eagle fans can look forward to the home games. For away games fans will be able to access CyberSports USA, which will enable Eagle supporters to see play-by play scores of all the games.

The website will also have what is called an Athleon link. This link is designed to be a team management program. In this exclusive link team members and parents will be able to access team activities and find out about daily practice times or fundraiser events.

We can look forward to the Mount Saint Elias Classic Basketball Tournament In January. The event will include a five team double elimination bracket. Teams from Cordova, Nome, Ninilchik, Point Hope boys, the Wasilla JV girls and Yakutat will compete for well earned trophies and awards. This 5-team double elimination has not been tried in Alaska so should prove to be very interesting.

There will be lots of basketball during that week.
