In the State tournament his team advanced to the state semi-finals.  Adams has been coaching basketball for a total of 16 years. He graduated from Yakutat High school in 1984. His basketball experience began when he was a 9th grader at North Mercer Middle School at Mercer Island, Washington in1981.
